Burns have three degrees of severity, a first degree burn is red, a second has blisters and a third degree burn causes damage to the skin and the underlying muscle.
Symptoms of a burn are typically shock, dehydration and infection on the area of the burn.
Electrical, chemical and radiation burns should be treated as an emergency. Causes for burns can be excessive heat, continuous friction, chemicals, radiation, electricity, fire, boiled water or boiled oil etc.
For minor burns, immediately apply Lavender oil neat to the burn and cover with a damp compress.
All burns, not obviously minor, require professional attention immediately.
