Flu is much more severe than a cold, but tends to exhibit similar symptoms. Flu causes high fever and chills and a feeling of total exhaustion as the whole body aches, the head hurts, the back aches and muscles are sore. In stomach flu nausea and vomiting are common.
Flu viruses are stronger, more infectious and harmful than those of colds, but both tend to have short incubation periods. They are highly contagious and can be caught by a sneeze, cough, or kiss.
A healthy immune system will resist the most virulent of colds and flu with ease, however individuals with a lot of stress and impoverished health will be more susceptible to recurring colds and flu.
Drink plenty of fluids to replace losses due to fever. Stay in bed and keep warm; eat food that digests easily. Drink tisanes (herbal teas) made of Chamomile, Eucalyptus, Hyssop and Thyme.
A warm bath, with some added essential oils can help boost your body when you feel that you are starting to come down with flu. When you have run the bath, add the following essential oils:

The room can also be vaporized with Clove, Lavender and Pine essential oil to help ease the symptoms.
